Ottra Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 21, 2026 | Effective Date: August 21, 2026

Unit Lab Global ("we", "us", or "our") publishes Ottra, a mobile travel application. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal data when you use Ottra.

1. Data Controller

Unit Lab Global, Paris, France, is the data controller for personal data processed through Ottra. You can contact us at contact@unitlabglobal.com.

2. Information We Process

  • Account and profile data: email address, name, profile photo, authentication identifiers, and account settings.
  • Location data: your device location, only when you grant permission, to show nearby places and location-aware recommendations.
  • Travel content: saved places, lists, trips, itineraries, preferences, and notes you create in Ottra.
  • Imported content: links, text, notes, and screenshots you choose to submit for AI-assisted extraction of travel recommendations.
  • Subscription data: subscription status, product, entitlement, and transaction identifiers. Payment card details are processed by Apple or Google and are not stored by us.
  • Technical and security data: device, application, log, diagnostic, and network information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, and troubleshoot Ottra.
  • Support data: information you include when contacting us.

3. How We Use Information

We process this information to provide and secure Ottra, authenticate users, synchronize and store their travel content, display maps and places, create itineraries, provide nearby and personalized results, process user-requested AI imports, manage subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases

  • Performance of a contract: to provide your account and the features you request.
  • Consent: for device location and other optional permissions. You may withdraw consent at any time in Ottra or your device settings.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, diagnose, and improve the service, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where processing or retention is required by applicable law.

5. Device Permissions

Ottra may request location and photo-library access. Location is optional and supports nearby discovery. Photo-library access is used only when you choose a screenshot to import. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings; the related optional features may then become unavailable.

6. AI-Assisted Imports

When you ask Ottra to import recommendations from a link, note, text, or screenshot, the selected content is sent for processing to identify relevant places and travel information. Ottra uses Google Gemini for these requested AI functions. Do not submit sensitive personal information or content you are not authorized to process. AI results may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be reviewed before use.

7. Service Providers

We use service providers acting on our behalf or providing functionality you request:

  • Supabase: authentication, database, file storage, and backend services. Privacy Policy.
  • Mapbox: maps and map-related functionality. Privacy Policy.
  • Google Places: place search and place information. Google Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini: AI-assisted processing of content you choose to import. Google Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: subscription and entitlement management. Privacy Policy.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution and payment processing under their respective privacy policies.

These providers may receive the limited data required to perform their services. We do not sell your personal data.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain account and travel content while your account is active and only as long as necessary to provide Ottra. Technical, security, support, and transaction records may be retained for limited periods when necessary for security, dispute resolution, accounting, or legal compliance. You can delete your account and associated data directly in Ottra.

9. Security and International Transfers

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted network connections and access controls. No system is completely secure. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where required, transfers are protected by an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or another lawful safeguard.

10. Your Rights

Depending on applicable law, including the GDPR, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of your personal data, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL or your local supervisory authority. Contact contact@unitlabglobal.com to exercise your rights.

11. Children

Ottra is not directed to children under 13. If local law requires a higher age for valid consent to online services, users below that age must use Ottra only with authorization from a parent or legal guardian. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate authorization.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when Ottra, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice where required.
